  • Schools, administrators, or teachers may use the presentations for workshops or individual learning
  • Presentations are designed towards educators that work in a school setting but will be available to anyone
  • Available on computers or mobile devices
  • New topics available each month

2. One-Credit Mini-Courses for Continuing Education Graduate Credit

  • Each mini-course includes reading material, a video presentation, and assignments/assessments
  • Each mini-course is go-at-your-own-pace but must be completed within 4 weeks of enrollment
  • Available on computers or mobile devices
  • New topics available each month
  • Mini-courses may be conducted by administrators or teacher-leaders in a workshop format or completed individually

Each mini-course awards

  • After submission of the course work and survey, a completion certificate of 15 clock hours of professional development will be awarded
  • One Continuing Education Unit graduate credit on an official Acacia transcript
  • An opportunity to transfer mini-courses taken on one topic into a graduate program (course work will be reviewed at that time)

Prerequisites for graduate credit

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Working in and/or associated with an educational institution

3. AdvancED International Teaching Award Program (available now)

Acacia University offers its Power Strategies® Teacher Training courses to educators and administrators in the U.S. and throughout the world. Each course focuses on one or two proven, research-based strategies, taught in a way that makes classroom implementation easy and effective. When the Power Strategies are used consistently in the classroom, learning becomes more effective and fun for the students. The strategies encourage higher level thinking skills and can be used in any subject area.

Professional development credit

Each course grants 45 clock hours of professional development credit equating to 3 continuing education graduate credits.

AdvancED International Teaching Award Program

Due to a special agreement with AdvancED, NWAC, and SACS CASI, we offer the AdvancED International Teaching Award for schools that are NCA accredited or in the process of accreditation.

Requirements: Complete 4 Power Strategies courses

Time limit: 2 years

Add another 4 courses in required courses to earn the Gold Star Award.

Requirements: Complete 8 Power Strategies courses

Time limit: 3 years

Each teacher who enrolls in an AdvancED Award Program will be responsible for registering in courses and making sure that the courses are counted toward the award program he/she desires.

Payment Policies

Tuition is payable at the time of registration for each course. Students will not receive official grade reports or certificates until all financial obligations have been met. Students who have outstanding financial obligations to Acacia University will not be permitted to register for future courses unless special arrangements have been approved through the Finance Office.

Students may pay by check, money order, wire transfer, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). International students must pay with U.S. currency.
