Dr. Cynthia Lopez

Dean of Education

With more than forty years of combined experience as a teacher, professor and administrator, Dr. Cynthia Lopez continues her educational career as Dean of Education for Acacia University.

She has a Master’s in Secondary Education and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas Pan American.

Postsecondary experience includes serving as an adjunct professor at Mary Hardin Baylor University, the University of Texas Pan American, and Acacia University.

Her administrative experience focused on supervision and evaluation, program compliance, curriculum development, strategic planning, professional development and community relations.

Her passion for learning was enriched when she conducted various international, systems and state accreditation reviews as a lead evaluator and team member for Advanced ED, now known as Cognia. Her presentations at national conferences include leading successful school turnarounds and transformations.

Dr. Lisa Oliphant

Dean of Academic and Student Affairs

Dr. Lisa Oliphant is currently Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Acacia University, where she has been a professor and program advisor for over 12 years.

She is also currently the Special Education District Specialist for Albuquerque Public Schools in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her work is focused on Special Education services, policies, programs, and compliance for a district of 80,000 students.

Previously, she was a Director of Special Education for the Bureau of Indian Education, working with several tribal school districts. She has worked as a school administrator, principal and has taught Introduction to Special Education courses at NM Highlands University.

She has over 21 years of experience in education, policy and compliance and has served as an inclusion teacher and a teacher for students with Autism for more than ten years.

She has a Master’s in Administration and Supervision and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Acacia University.
